Deborah Thompson serves as outside general counsel and advisor to small business owners, for-profit and nonprofit organizations, and regularly counsels employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies in Maryland and the District of Columbia in matters involving all types of labor issues and claims of discrimination and harassment, wage and hour violations, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, and retaliation. Deborah regularly counsels and trains supervisors and managers on accommodating employees with disabilities, managing family and medical leave, creating diverse and inclusive workplaces, and minimizing litigation risks in the workplace. Deborah also has worked with companies in conducting independent investigations of allegations of harassment and discrimination, responding to charges of discrimination and EEOC investigations, remediating other potential workplace issues, and developing employment policies and procedures.
