Ann Manby is an expert in workforce development, known for her strategic and insightful approach to empowering underserved job seekers. Throughout her career, Ann has combined creativity with a deep understanding of both employer and job seeker needs to craft innovative solutions and ensure adult job seekers are equipped for the modern job market. As the Chief Workforce Development Officer at the Center for Workforce Inclusion, Ann leads strategic planning, growth and oversight for a $60 million portfolio of national workforce development programming. She is instrumental in engaging and mobilizing key stakeholders to drive the organization’s mission forward, including partnering with employers to design an innovative career pathway blueprint program that aligns targeted training with in-demand industry occupations.

Ann also serves as strategic advisor to the American Workforce Coalition, a network of national nonprofit organizations dedicating to advancing the workforce aspirations of older adults. In this role, she collaborates with coalition members to design outreach and educational strategies to build relationships with key policymakers and Federal agencies. Before joining the Center for Workforce Inclusion, Ann’s strategic acumen led to the successful launch of multiple groundbreaking initiatives that expanded service regions and enhanced job seeker support systems. Her ability to foresee industry trends and implement forward-thinking solutions has made a lasting impact on workforce development opportunities available to traditionally underserved communities.

Ann’s career began in public accounting, focusing on nonprofit clients. She later served as the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer of United Way of Summit County and held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Workforce Development Officer at Vantage Aging. Recognized for her contributions to the community, Ann was named one of Our Lady of the Elms High School’s 100 Women of Distinction in 2024, a Woman of Distinction by Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio in 2017, Leadership Akron Signature Class in 2017, and 30 For the Future by the Greater Akron Chamber in 2010.

Ann holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Akron and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is passionate about creating opportunities for older adults and is dedicated to ensuring they have the support needed to thrive. Ann lives in Akron, Ohio with her wife and daughter.
